Of my three and a half month vacation to Asia recently, which was my first trip back home ever since I moved to US after marriage, I was at my in-laws' in India for two months from October to December 2012. My visit was especially for my devar's (bro-in-law's) wedding.
With my habit of writing a diary, as I went through each day, I used to record at least something from the day what I did, observed, heard, visited, felt, or learned.
After much debate whether I should share my observations in public or not, considering it could create controversies (not that I haven't created controversies before...), I concluded that I will. Partly for your entertainment, and partly for your exposure to India. As I slowly convert the scribblings from my diary into readable sentences, I plan to share stories and show photos of my trip.
So if you are interested, come join me in my journey, to see each day of and discoveries from, my trip to India ... through my eyes.

To share something like this on public space needs lots of courage and wits, well what are blogs for then ! Loved your observation points and you are right,a better understanding assumes only when we are far from it. "double faced people " ; damn electricity ; saree and food - so much "Indiah"

omggggggg.. i guess you are used to going to india for 2 months.. and despite that you faced challenges. it is hard for me to visit for 2 weeks and not go nuts. i don't know what it is.. it's a very mixed feeling.. things don't go smooth, but i guess it's just all part of being in India.
