After I searched over months for some good sangeet songs for dance performances for my wedding, I decided it was high time to compile them in a single file for future reference (and to save a large amount of time!). Below are various kinds of Bollywood and Hindi songs suggested for Sangeet Sandhya.
Some are emotional ones, some are romantic. Some of the songs are item numbers; some are happy-to-get-married songs. Some songs are for the bride to perform on, some apt for the groom. Some are solo, some are duets. Some of the songs are for friends to perform on, some are for family members. Some are for couples, some are for bride/groom's relatives.
Some of the songs can be combined to make a story, some can be put together as a theme. Some can be used as a background for slideshow presentation, some for a group dance. Some fast numbers for youngsters to perform on, some make for a good comedy or parody. Some old gold songs for the elder couples, some .... the choice is yours :-)

The sequence goes like this, the guy(my brother) meets the girl (for the first time with parents) and when he sees then 'Dil main baji guitar' plays in the background. Later, they are showed to be talking that is when do 'anjaane ajnabi' plays. Then I want a song where it states that both families have accepted and later I'm going to add a song ---aur pyar ho gaya or something like that! As in they fall in love after both families accept. Will you please suggest any song in the situation where both families have accepted, I'm really stuck!

songs for kids/children between 5-8yrs. of age.
like chandu ke chacha ne, boogie-woogie song, dance pe chance etc. tracks..
actually teenagers mostly have their choices where as this age group needs
simple music, simple steps and catchy lyrics... that too bollywood songs only.
please help..

DeleteFor student life I guess Student of the Year - Ratta Maar, for haldi some part of Kisna - Woh Din Aa Gaya [gori ke haathon mein mehendi lagaao, uptan se ang ang mehkaao...]. I cannot think of any song where family is searching a groom for the daughter. There is one song from Aazmayish (1995) where the girl sings "Dhoond rahe hain mere liye ladka mere gharwaale" but I find the song silly.
Hmm, are you sure you want to have families accepting and wishing mubarak ho shaadi before mehendi, etc? Anyway, hope my suggestions help. At the ending you can have one of the emotional bidaai songs if you wish :)
hey nisha, this is vivek , we are having sangeet in december for my brothers wedding. we have slected a theme in whoch our family will dance for bride ( my bhabi ) for eg : my mother will dance for her bahu and my niece will dance for her mami ....etc etc. Similarly the brides family will dance for groom i.e jamai raja ke liye types....Hope that u understand my theme.

That's a tough one, Vivek. I have no idea of songs for those relations too. But there is Baari Barsi from Band Baaja Baraat that has bride and groom side families (mix and match, devar-saali, jija-bhabhi, etc) dancing on sangeet. A similar Mehfil Taa Sajdi from Beti No. 1. And Sunoji Dulhan Ek Baat Suno Ji from Hum Saath Saath Hain where they creativey introduce family members to the Dulhan. Badhaai Ho Badhaai Ho song from movie Badhaai Ho Badhaai and Taaron Ka Chamakta from Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam have no relation mentioned so parts of those can be used in general. Lo Chali Main Devar Ki Baraat Leke from Hum Aapke Hain Kaun is perfect dedication for devar-devrani. Title song of Hamari Devrani from the Star Plus TV series can be snipped for devrani too. I can't find one directly for bahu, but last stanza of Aaj Hamare Dil Mein from Hum Aapke Hain Kaun is a good (emotional) one from bride's mother to groom's parents. See if you'd like to incorporate different songs like these with each other. Hope that helps!
